Time Again

I never thought the end would come so soon
The dissatisfied look mirrored in thine eyes
Breaks my heart again in this weakened state

Only in my dreams can thy life begin
Can one dream such magnificence?
As compared to my memories of you.

Thy thoughts are now ceasing as
Our waking shadow penetrates reality
I fear it is a game I will not win.

I could from such bitter words to taste
But my love for thee doth interfere
Where the minds play brings tears to stay,
a heart unfulfilled once again.

You were my dream once upon the walking hour
A voice of song the penetrate mine soul
Such memories do scarcely pass, time, and
time again.

A last ear shed for your own sake,
I wish upon you happiness and joy
For days and years to come, through eternity

The greatest gift I could give, three words of truth
And if e’er your eyes glance this page
A last dream crosses, of living our stolen time

Though “loved” was uttered,
And I knew it was no more.
