What is Love?

Many have said through time that love is a game
Whose prize is not measured in riches or fame
But in the level of devotion found in your heart
That imparts your love like a scorching dart

When the sun is shining or when in the night
Love longs for the bliss of the loved one’s sight
Love fervently grows with every passing day
It’s always attentive to what the lover might say

Love is strong, courageous, daring, and bright
It never gives up without presenting a fight
If the love is true, all things it will endure
Real love is everlasting, of that I am sure

Love can be funky and can confuse the mind
Love is not rational and at times is blind
I have learned from experience that you must trust love
Dive in headfirst and hope it’s from above

I have tried to explain what love is but I’m not able
In the words of a wise woman, “It’s unexplainable”
